Homemade Christmas treats

Unlike the recipes I typically post, I can guarantee that none of these recipes are gluten-free or remotely ‘healthy’. But I firmly believe that everyone should enjoy dessert, especially during the holidays. Here are a few recipes that I’ve added to my collection through the years; all of these are great on dessert trays or in gift boxes!

Chocolate Peppermint Thumbprints from Delish

Although this recipe is a little more involved than most, I promise you will love this combination of chocolate and peppermint.

Snickerdoodles from The Kitchn

Snickerdoodles are amazingly soft and make a great addition to any holiday gift box. You can also make them crunchy or soft.

Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies from Saving Room for Dessert

I get a lot of compliments whenever I bring these ones to parties, so make sure to add this to your repertoire.

Swig Sugar Cookies from Vintage Revivals

Another simple recipe…with a lot of sugar! I think these are also great without the icing, but it does add a nice touch.

Ginger Cookies from Happy Hooligans

Ginger snaps (also known as ginger sparklers) have a special place in my heart. I’ve been using this recipe for years.

Magic Cookie Bars from Katrina’s Kitchen

This is one of those recipes that seems to include a bunch of random ingredients, but let me just say these are insanely good.

Gingerbread Fudge from Sweat2Eat Baking

I love making fudge because it’s so unbelievably easy. The spices in this one have a delicious festive taste.

Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies from Creations by Kara

I’ve always loved peanut butter, so obviously PB cookies are on my favourites list. These contain only a few simple ingredients.
